Icon Toggle for LastPass

Icon Toggle for LastPass is a free, open-source Chrome extension that hides the LastPass icon appearing inside input fields. You can hide it on one site or on every site, and the change applies instantly — without disabling LastPass, blocking autofill, or touching your vault.

Why hide the LastPass icon?

LastPass places a small red icon inside every email, username, and password field you type into. On narrow inputs it overlaps the text you are entering, and on carefully designed forms it breaks the layout. LastPass ships no setting to turn it off, so the usual workaround is disabling the password manager entirely — which costs you autofill everywhere.

This extension solves the narrow problem instead: it hides the icon and leaves everything else alone.

How does it work?

The extension changes only how the page looks. It covers the icon up, and remembers exactly how the field looked so it can put the icon straight back when you ask for it. Turning the icon back on needs no page reload, and toggling updates every open tab at once. LastPass itself is never modified or interfered with — uninstall this extension and everything is as it was.

Per site, or everywhere?

Both. There is a global default plus an optional per-site override, so you can hide the icon everywhere and allow it back on the few sites where you want it. Settings sync across the Chrome profiles you are signed into.

What data does it collect?

None. There are no analytics, no accounts, and no network requests of any kind. Your keystrokes, credentials, and page content are never read or stored. It uses two permissions:

PermissionWhy it is needed
storageRemembering your on/off switches. Nothing else is stored.
site accessThe LastPass icon can appear on a form on any site, so the styling must be applicable anywhere. Used only to apply styling.
